I’ve found that walking boosts my creativity. I went for a walk today after being handed copy for a big project. I read through each piece, then went out to brainstorm. It was really helpful to think about the various pieces and how they will fit together. I took in the colors, textures and patterns outdoors. Something as simple as dried pine needles scattered on wet cement is really beautiful. It forced me to step away from email, the internet and phone. I was alone with my thoughts, and that doesn’t happen very often.
Today was a success. I ate well and even managed to keep my distance from the ridiculously tasty Maple BBQ kettle chips the boys were eating earlier. My son gave me one which I ate and that was it. Normally I would grab a handful and say that’s it, but I stopped at one. I had to. I’m interested to see what the scale reveals on Friday.
